ImMature
Immature is an app designed to guide young adults through the journey of adulting and help them master essential life skills that are often overlooked in traditional education. As we step into adulthood and embrace independence, tasks like managing finances, doing groceries, filing taxes, and handling bank transactions become crucial, yet many of us find ourselves unprepared. Immature serves as a comprehensive resource. It provides answers and guidance for all those adulting challenges that schools typically did not cover.
Outcome: An app that helps young adults get a grip on critical day-to-day activities, deal with them effectively and eventually hone their survival skills.
“Adulting” may be a coined term, but the challenges it represents are undeniably real.
Let’s talk about what it's like to be an adult.
Being an adult certainly has its perks: independence, responsibility, and the freedom to make your own choices. However, it also comes with significant challenges. Adulting requires you to take responsibility for your own life, which can be overwhelming at times.
My Role
In a team of seven, I contributed to the research, synthesis, and early design phases of the project. I then led the design of the Explore section, focusing on how users discover and navigate content within the app. Using Figma, I developed low-fidelity wireframes that tested information hierarchy, interaction flows, and the overall discovery experience.
Project Timeline and Initial Research
User Analysis
Based on user research and surveys conducted among individuals aged 16 to 30, it was found that 73.9% of respondents were between the ages of 20 and 25. Additionally, 88.2% of young adults in this age group reported feeling anxious when asked,
"Does the thought of adulting give you stress?"
A thorough user study was conducted which involved analyzing the user's potential thoughts, feelings, and noting real-time actions and dialogues that came across as reactions which would eventually grant us insights on making the right moves for creating an overall improved user experience.
The design approach
This app offers a hassle-free way to connect with like-minded individuals, build communities, learn from experienced experts, and find the right solutions at the right time.
The app design decisions were made to ensure a minimal learning curve, allowing users to transition seamlessly from other apps. Usability and icon choices were optimized for recognizability & users' recall to enhance their overall experience.

The Output
User Testing
I tested the Explore section through task-based user interactions, observing how users navigated and made sense of the experience. By translating these observations into a journey map, I identified key moments of friction and opportunity—shaping clear next steps for improving usability, flow, and content structure.
